Cuzner Returns To Mooseheads For Four Games

Halifax Mooseheads general manager Cam Russell announced on Wednesday that 20-year-old forward Brad Cuzner will dress for the Mooseheads for the clubs next four games starting Thursday night against P.E.I. .

Cuzner, who was with the team last season, will dress as one of three 20 year old overage players on the roster.  Mooseheads overage defenseman Konrad Abeltshauser remains out of the lineup with a wrist injury until the Christmas break.

The Bathurst Titan and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies made a minor trade on Tuesday.

The Titan sent a first round Canadian Hockey League Import Pick in 2013 to the Huskies in exchange for a fourth round pick at the 2013 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.

 

Primeau Leaves Wildcats; Champagne Resigns

It looks as if the Moncton Wildcats have lost a defensmean and a goaltending coach, according to Scott MacIntosh (@scottmacnews957), Radio Sports Director of News 95.7.

MacIntosh first reported on twitter on Tuesday that defenseman Jake Primeau has left the hockey club to return to Ottawa.

In six games this season with the Wildcats, Primeau had no points, while posting a -1 rating and 10 penalty minutes.

Titan Ship Hynes To Foreurs For Beaudry

The Bathurst Titan and Val-D'or Foreurs made a trade on Tuesday.

The Titan traded 20-year-old right winger Brandon Hynes, a fourth round pick at the 2013 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft and a 8th round pick at the 2014 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft to the Foreurs in exchange for 20-year-old center Michaël Beaudry and a third round pick at the 2013 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.

The Halifax Mooseheads and Shawinigan Cataractes hooked up for a trade on Monday.

The Mooseheads sent the rights to 19-year-old defenseman Kyle Kavanaugh along with a first round Import Pick in 2013, a second round pick at the 2013 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft (BAC) and a first round pick at the 2014 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft to the Cataractes in exchange for 17-year-old defenseman Jean-Philippe Provencher and a first round Import Pick in 2013.

 

Screaming Eagles' Farrell Misses Sunday's Game With Upper Body Injury

Even Strength has learned, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles center Kyle Farrell missed Sunday's game in Chicoutimi due to an upper body injury.

Farrell, 18, has 24 points including 11 goals and 13 assists in 32 games with the Screaming Eagles this season.

No word on Farrell's status for Tuesday's game in Saint John as of yet.

Mooseheads Call Up Pye For Weekend Games

The Halifax Mooseheads have called up forward Brandon Pye from the Maritime Junior Hockey League's Truro Bearcats, according to Halifax Chronicle-Herald QMJHL writer Willy Palov.

Palov announced the news via twitter on Monday afternoon.

Pye, 18, leads the Bearcats in goals with 16 and has a total of 29 points in 22 games.

The native of St John's, NL., was drafted by the Mooseheads at the 2011 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round 11, 179th overall.

 

Danault, Cüpper And Carrier Named TELUS Three Stars Of The Week

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced it's TELUS three stars of the week for the period of December 3rd to December 9th.

Victoriaville Tigres center Phillip Danault, Shawinigan Cataractes goaltender Marvin Cüpper and Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defenseman Samuel Carrier have won the awards.
