Screaming Eagles' Honzik Not Expected "Game Ready" Until October
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles confirmed in a press release on the clubs website that 19-year-old goaltender David Honzik will not be game ready until sometime in October.
Honzik, A Vancouver Canucks prospect, had surgery on his right shoulder on July 11th. The Czech Republic native told Even Strength on August 5th, he hoped to be back on the ice by the end of August, however that will not be the case.
Honzik told Even Strength on Thursday that it is taking longer then he first thought.
"It will be longer than I expected" said the netminder.
The Screaming Eagles currently have three goaltenders at camp, veteran Philippe Trudeau, Alex Bureau, who was a second round pick in 2012 and Honzik. Trudeau and Bureau will likely start the season as the clubs goaltenders.
